Different ways to use Notebooks

I am quite obsessed with collecting notebooks, I don't go through them quickly and I have many sitting about untouched.
I think its a girl thing. Anyways I thought I would write a small blog post about the different things to use notebooks for. Hope you find this post somewhat useful or interesting.

Use your notebook as a dream journal:
I don't tend to have many dreams, but when I do they are WEIRD. I have a notebook by my bed where I write my dreams down. Its quite interesting looking back on some of the wacky dreams I've had, and even more exciting to look up the meaning of dreams. This is a quick and interesting way of using your favourite notebook, its a book you can treasure forever and look back on later on life.

Use your notebook as a small scrapbook:
I use a couple of my notebooks as scrapbooks for days I've had, pictures I've taken est. Its a great way to save precious memories!
I use fancy coloured washi tape (Another thing I enjoy collecting) to tape photos Ive taken to my notebook, especially made easy by my polaroid camera which takes instant photos!
Fun, creative and a great way to document memories you want to remember forever.

Use your notebook as a sketchbook:
You'd be surprised how great pen sketches look in a notebook! whether its lined or not. Its a great way to capture something while your out and about, to neaten up or redraw later once your home at your desk!
Great for inspiration!

Use your notebook as a diary!
Okay so this is a pretty obvious one isn't it, but why not make it a little more interesting by adding paragraphs that describe how you feel on a specific day, or list things you are thankful for. You'd be surprised how interesting diary entries like these are to read back on. I personally like to write about days I enjoyed, I prefer not to document the bad days.. they are no fun to read back on.

Just a few ideas I thought maybe someone would find useful

If you have a genius way to use notebooks please let me know. I love hearing others ideas and uses for notebooks.

Peace Out

Nikon 1 Camera review

I have had my Nikon 1 for I think.. Almost 2 years?
It's a great camera and I found it very easy to use. The quality is great, and there are different lenses available for it if you want to go all out.
I should also note I know nothing about cameras or photography, In fact I just press buttons and hope for the best...

If the lighting is good, your pictures will be amazing
The camera is amazing at keeping vibrant colours vibrant. These pictures are without any editing of any kind.
No editing, No nothing. If that's not amazing I don't know what is.
However if your in a room with poor lighting or non natural lighting, I find pictures become grainy and blurry... Maybe its just me.
If you were to take pictures indoors with poor natural lighting, I suspect some professional lighting would be required to make pictures look as good as this, but that's a requirement with most cameras now a days if you want professional photos at home and now a'days this type of technology isn't that expensive.

Motion snapshot
The motion snapshot is a seriously handy feature on this camera. It basically captures a few seconds of video in slow-motion and combines it with a still image. Clever stuff and handy when taking pictures while driving, of of frigidity animals.

I really enjoy using this camera, and I think I will defiantly invest in some more lenses for it. Here are some more photos ;)

That's all folks

Neons By OPI: Bright Summer Nail Colour

Was at work today looking through facebook and these amazing looking nail varnishes caught my eye on the OPI facebook page and almost fainted. Look at these amazing colours... particularly loving the shade "Down to the core-al" and "You are So Outta Lime!" Oh hell... I LOVE THEM ALL!

Shades are as follows: Juice Bar Hopping (tangerine), Life Gave Me Lemons (citrus yellow), Down to the Core-al (coral pink) You are So Outta Lime! (lime green), Hotter than You Pink (fuchsia), Push & Pur-Pull (purple) and . ALL SUPER NEON AND BRIGHT!

So I'm kind of excited as you can probably tell by my use of caps here, but to my disappointment this beautiful collection will only be available to buy on the 14th of May... I know BOO right! but something to look forward to and save for hahaha...

This collection is called Neons and they are made by OPI. The collection will be available in department stores and salons nationwide on 14 May 2014 for £11.95 each.. steep but worth it if you ask me ;)

I'm probably totally late on this OPI nail collection, I'm really quite slow at these kinds of things.. So back to being a little SLOW I go... Till next time guys!

Home Sweet Home!

Wow... time flies!
Moving was quite a task.. with three trips up and down in the car stuffed with my possessions.. Oh and not to mention the FULL day of work just minutes before moving.
Save to say it was a VERY long day, but I'm glad to say was totally and utterly worth it.

I have been staying in the new place for a little more than a week and feel completely at home.. No real anxiety and having probably the best sleeps of my life. So at peace right now.
Having been in my own place before I knew the ins and outs.. so no nasty surprises.. although forking out almost £900 just for rent/deposit was kind of heartbreaking.

Here are some pics of things so far.. just a spoiler for hopefully an awesome fully furnished house.

Anyway so far all in all, I'm pleased with how things are developing! This house is defiantly a home.

Moving House!

Before I start I just wanted to wish all the mothers out there a very Happy Mothers Day!

Oh dear I notice my blog has been lacking in posts recently.. for this I am very sorry. I wont make excuses because thats not what I'm here for.

Finally after what feels like forever... I am finally moving into my own little flat.
Moving house is never an easy task, having moved a lot in my little life time I can tell ya its bloomin' stressful and I suspects temperatures will rise as the stress levels increase.
Its alot of faffing about with what to put into each box, making sure you remember everything, trying to stuff everything into the van and of course unloading and unpacking although Its the building of furniture that really tests a relationship. Believe me men don't want your help where DIY is involved and I guarantee you will regret helping him if you do ;) learn from my mistakes ladies HAHA.

Best part of moving has to be buying things for the house. I never knew that at the age of 23 I would get so excited about going to IKEA! So I've splurged a bit and probably bought things I shouldn't have but this is what moving is about. Note to self, make list of necessary items before visiting IKEA.
TK-Max is the place to go for decorative items. They have so many pretty, pretty things I wanted to buy.... Ryan however said no.. Damn men for being so practical all the time.

Okay so anyway before I bore you by listing items I bought from where I will STOP there and say thanks for reading. I know It wasn't the most exciting blog post to read but I promise a proper blog post about moving and lots of pictures very soon :) Bare with me.

Back to packing I go...

Thought that I would make a nice little blog post for you all relating to the holiday.

The best part of halloween is all the bat themed items you get, due to the fact I'm a huge fan of pastel goth fashion. Anyway Im starting to ramble on. Hope you enjoy this blog post guys ^^

My experience with South Africa

Okay well, where do I start here...
I moved to South Africa with my fiance the beginning of June. let me start off by saying that I feel like this journey and new experience has really benefited both me and Ryan in a real way. Its been good for us to experience this, open our view on life and also make us realize how fortunate we really are.

Okay now down to my experience. South Africa is a beautiful country! and a lot of the people I have met on my travels have been amazing to talk to and relate with. However I have also seen the bad attitudes of both native South Africans and the dutch who colonized this country.. yes this colonization happened years and years ago, but the war still seems to exist till this day, not in a literal sense but in a ancestry way. The two have not forgotten or forgiven for the past. I have seen afrikaans (dutch) have horrible attitudes, and look down on South Africans, but I have also experienced being bumped into on purpose by Africans, because of my skin colour.  As I am white, its been assumed I am an afrikaner (dutch). This has led my experience on a day to day basis be rather hard.

The younger generation seem to get on so well together, from what I have seen. Its the older generation that hasn't seemed to let go. I always remember when I was young living in this country, being friends with a lovely African little girl a house down from me. My brothers friend was an afrikaans speaking boy. This boy a couple of days after making friends with the African girl, said he no longer wanted to be friends with me and my Brother... all because we had befriended the African girl. This coming from a child?.. Horrifying to say the least. So sometimes even kids knowing nothing of anything, grow up with there parents horrible view on things! We see that all the time though.. in all walks of live I suppose.
The driving here is has been a whole new experience on its own. I give you one word... DANGEROUS. If your not awake and the driving seat, expect an accident to happen. You need to have your eyes peeled at all times. Not saying that driving in the UK was a breeze, because a lot of people shouldn't be driving lol. But me and my fiance Ryan have had so many near misses from drivers that couldn't possibly have a licence! Its been scary. Every day you drive, your pretty much always going to have to toot your horn at someone, whether its undercutting you, overtaking you (With little or no room to be doing so) or just plan not even paying attention to where they are going!

Another big HUGE surprise to me is that cops here do not pull you over for traffic offences... We were driving one day in a 40 Kilometer an hour road, to be overtaken by a big buckkie going what must have been a 100 Kilometers an hour, almost hitting us as he pulled in in front of us, (we beeped our horn at him like crazy)... This all happened RIGHT BEFORE A POLICE CAR!... you would haha your going to get nicked brother, but no... Cop car didn't do a thing. Why have speed limits you ask? I just dont know.
Red lights?... apparently people don't care. and I could go on.. but I think you get the idea here guys.

Internet is something that just does not work properly here. Basically there is just one company (Telcom) which is run by the government over here. Other companies can then lease lines from telcom. This makes internet very, very expensive. Why? Because we all know governments are greedy and corrupt. So internet is not only slow but at crazy prices. 10 Gig of data cost us £100 ... if thats not robbery, I don't know what is, oh and you need to use this 10 gig in one month and its erased. So for me and Ryan, being internet addicts and used to crazy fast broadband.. we pretty much cried.

Crime is still a very serious issue in South Africa, as much as we like not to talk about it. Stuff that happens down here, just doesn't happen in the UK. Everyone I have talked to, or met.. has experienced crime in some way. Not just in terms of robbery or small crime.. I mean knifes and guns and so on. This thankfully is something we have not experienced since arriving here, which I am thankful for every day. I feel like I have been overly cautious during my stay here. I make sure all the windows are closed every night, I check the bathroom before I shower, I make sure my bag and phone or close to me, and I basically watch my back every hour of every day. I feel its necessary... In Scotland this was something I honestly never worried about. I never even fully locked my house when I left for town most days in Scotland.

Jobs. This was something I honestly wasn't worried about before I left. I felt pretty confident that I would manage to get something, with my qualifications behind me. Boy was I wrong....
There are jobs going.. however the government has a law in place where companies need to employ a certain percentage of Native South Africans, this percentage is something like 97 percent... this means that white South Africans pretty much have no chance. I tried applying for many jobs, and heard nothing back. On one hand I think, well yeah that makes sense government, but on the other hand I think.. well thats a little unfair! Shouldnt the person employed be employed cause they are better for the job? not because of there background? In a way its very racist? is it not?...... I dont know. But getting a job here is near impossible! Just to be clear. I am a South African citizen! I'm not some outsider taking Africans jobs from them. I have a right to work here.... This is the main reason for me returning to Scotland with my fiance. No job, no money, no house, no way to live.

Im not trying to bash South Africa here, but I have to admit... Its very hard not to. There is just so much that doesn't make sense to me and So many faults I have found....
Yes Scotland is no perfect country! and has just as many flaws, but i'm used to those flaws xD
I will try and finish off with the good.. make this post a little less depressing, shall I? lol
I have enjoyed being here, make no mistake :) I have had a chance to get a lovely tan, soak up lots of vitamin C (which lets face it we Scots NEED desperately) I have had the chance to see and spend time with alot of my family that I haven't seen in years, see friends I haven't seen since primary school, and show Ryan my old school, and the country I was born!
We have been given the chance to experience so many new things that we just couldn't in the UK.... Like driving an old volkswagen beetle for example. Its been an amazing experience, and I'm very glad that we came here. Its given me a whole new outlook on life for sure! And lets face it a change is always nice!

So as much as things haven't worked out for us here, its still been amazing! I am now very much looking forward to getting back to the UK.. my home :) I'm looking forward to starting a new! I get to make a fresh start, not many can say they have done that.

Can't wait to get back to my Scotland!

Hair Dying Plans!

For quite a while now i have been somewhat unsatisfied with my hair. I keep seeing beautiful ladies with amazing bright and vibrant hair. I'm very jealous!
So i done some research into "home kits" for dying my hair an interesting colour, and came across a brand of hair colour called "Manic Panic"... this name intrigued me!

I stared longingly at the immense collection of colours available... SO MUCH CHOICE!

As some of you may know I ombre'd my hair at the beginning of this year, using loreal-paris Ombre kit! I loved the outcome. However noticed this beautiful picture on tumblr......

and fell in LOVE! So this is what I plan on going for.
What I will state is that dying your hair really does damage it. The moment I ombre'ed my hair, I could feel how brittle and coarse it was, I also have thousands of split ends, which are so noticeable thanks to the light colour haha >u<
I think this can definitely be helped, by just looking after your hair more, with different products.. which can prevent this from happening!

So soon a hair cut will be booked as my hair is now sooo long its strangling me in my sleep.... and my ends are so damaged from not looking after it. So once the hair is cut, the colour can begin.
I will make sure to do a before and after post for you all, and review the Manic panic hair dye as well. So stay tuned my lovelies!

If you have another suggestion on hair dye you think is better, please feel free to comment on this post.. The help would be much appriciated. Hope you all had a good weekend and, I hope you all have a great week.
